Michigan Has New Child Protection Laws
Legislation was recently passed into law that gives authorities more tools to help protect our children from sexual predators.
The new laws requires repeat offenders convicted of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree to serve a life sentence without a chance of parole if their victims are under the age of 13.
The Michigan version of "Jessica's Law," will require at least 25 years in prison with lifetime parole for someone convicted of sexually assaulting a child younger than 13.
This legislation was Sponsored by Senator Tony Stamas who serves the Gaylord area. We appreciate the Senator for his hard work and dedication on behalf of Michigan's children.

Pending Legislation
Legislation is pending that would ensure a woman who chooses to have her child can do so without being harrassed or threatened. Along with making coercion illegal, the legislation would require abortion providers to screen for domestic violence and coercion. This bill is now in committee.
We applaud the efforts of our State lawmakers in the fight to protect Michigan's Children!!!!!!
